Collector’s Guide to Dali Prints
Salvador Dali produced over 1600 different graphic prints. There were probably another 500 forgeries made of different subjects in the same period. Some of these even bear authentic signatures.

There are two criteria that decide if a print is good or bad. One - "clarity of concept". Can you understand what Dali was trying to say and can you understand what each figure is and how it relates to the others? Two - depth of imagination. Is the composition so innovative that there is nothing like it in western art? Is it dream-like and filled with wonderful symbolism that can be easily interpreted to add a secondary depth of psychological meaning? This is Dali at his greatest.
We carefully examine each Dali print to determine if it is authentic. Next, we inspect its condition to make sure it is not sun-bleached, stained or torn. We then classify it by quality using the criteria we mentioned. Finally, we compare it to similar prints on the market to place a true value on it. We use time proven techniques to place our values, not numbers "pulled out of the air" like other appraisers do. We make appraising Dali prints a "science", not a skill.
